UPI

Testing UPI Details

Use the below UPI testing details to validate UPI Collect, Intent, QR, and payment status flows in the Sandbox environment. The actual production flow involves real customer approval through a UPI app, while the Sandbox flow simulates success and failure responses for testing.

UPI Collect Success

Enter any syntactically valid VPA in Sandbox to simulate a successful UPI Collect payment response.

customer@upi

UPI Collect Failure

Enter this specific VPA in Sandbox to simulate a failed UPI Collect payment response.

fiatpe@failure

UPI Collect Flow

UPI Collect is used when the customer enters their UPI ID/VPA on the checkout page. The customer then receives a collect request in their UPI app and approves or rejects the payment.

Actual Collect Flow

In the actual flow, the customer enters their UPI ID on the checkout page. FiatPe sends a collect request to the customer’s UPI app. The customer opens the UPI app, approves or rejects the request, and the final payment status is received by FiatPe.

Enter VPA β†’ Approve in UPI app β†’ Status update

Test Collect Flow

In Sandbox, enter any syntactically valid VPA to simulate a successful Collect payment. Enter fiatpe@failure to simulate a failed payment. No real money is debited.

customer@upi / fiatpe@failure
Step 1Create an order or payment request using FiatPe PG APIs in the UAT environment.
Step 2Open the checkout page and select UPI Collect as the payment mode.
Step 3Enter any syntactically valid VPA to test success or fiatpe@failure to test failure.
Step 4FiatPe will simulate the payment result and update the transaction status accordingly.
Step 5The corresponding webhook or callback will be sent to your configured callback URL.

UPI Intent / QR Flow

UPI Intent or QR is used when the customer completes the payment by opening any UPI PSP app or scanning a QR code. In production, the payment is completed inside the UPI app. In UAT, the response is selected manually from a test response page.

Actual Intent / QR Flow

In the actual flow, the customer selects UPI Intent or scans the QR code using any UPI PSP app. The customer completes the payment inside the UPI app. FiatPe receives the final payment status and sends the callback/webhook to the merchant.

Scan QR β†’ Pay in UPI app β†’ Status update

Test Intent / QR Flow

In the UAT flow, scan the QR code using any PSP app. After scanning, you will be redirected to a FiatPe UAT response page where you can manually select Payment Successful or Payment Unsuccessful.
